Building Surveys for Stair Design
At Bisca, our building surveys remove any boundary to the layout and style of stair we can design and craft for your property. There are however many technical and structural considerations which need to be carefully scrutinised, before we can advise on the possibilities and potential for creating the staircase of your dreams.
For this reason, a building survey is a key component of the stair design service we offer. This allows us to take accountability for the staircase we create and offers a client complete assurance that their building’s structure will perfectly integrate and safely support their new staircase commission.
We are proud to have nearly 30 years’ experience within this specialist field and consider a building survey to be an integral part of our staircase design and planning process. This adds important value to the bespoke requirements of each staircase project – whilst enabling us to explore all options and ensure what we create is truly unique to your home. Our team are CSCS accredited and will consider all the latest building regulations when surveying a property and offering advice.
Will Your Stair Design Benefit From A Building Survey?
In most cases, a client will know their preferences in terms of staircase aesthetics and style – however the structural implications on your building for achieving these, will not always be so obvious. At Bisca, a building survey will be taken during the design process, and for some projects more detailed surveys will be taken at designated intervals thereafter. Bisca always takes a final survey check before manufacture.
The findings of your building survey will help us understand the parameters of the physical space surrounding your staircase. We will look at the access and egress of your property, whether walls can or need to be moved, and whether additional support/reinforcement is required. The survey allows us to understand how your staircase will impact other works in the area and overcome potential complications for installation.
Our building survey is fully integrated within the staircase design process, giving you peace of mind that the advice and suggestions we present, are both realistic and will achieve the desired outcome.
